Given the ongoing debate about the best AC/DC vocalist and and the 'fact' that Dio was rubbish with Block Sabbatt I though I would give you the opportunity to great the best band in the world!

I'll kick off with Keith Moon on drums; Jack Bruce on bass, Steve Vai on lead guitar, George Thorogood on rhythm guitar, Keith Emerson on keyboards and Lee Brilleaux vocals. Lord alone knows what they would sound like together though......

Would that be Dave Friidman who produces the lips records? But isn't a member of the Flaming Lips. :-D

Sorry. Music geek and big Lips fan. Friidman is really good, and to be fair he's one of those who works closely with bands and kinda becomes part of the band for a bit. Anyway, thread hijack over..

I loved '13' but Ozzy is getting tired. Swap in Chris Cornell for me.

Did you know that Ian Anderson's daughter (a music graduate) eventually summoned up the courage to tell her dad he'd been playing the flute wrong for decades?

You mean, you're supposed to play it standing on both legs?

Prince
Dick Dale
any Muscle Shoals horn section
Dusty Springfield and Aretha Franklin

Dick Dale doesn't really fit, but he's awesome, so he can flit in and out when something particularly raucous is needed.

Good topic! Tricky, because - just like 'fantasy football' etc - simply choosing heroes in their own disciplines wouldn't necessarily lead to a good outcome.....like Freddie Mercury on vocals and Mark Knophler on lead guitar just wouldn't marry-up right........anyway, here's my bluesy two penneth-worth....

Amy Winehouse on vocals
Jamie T on bass guitar, melody-making and after-party DJ
Stewart Copeland on drums
Taj Mahal and Eric Clapton swinging lead and rhythm on guitar
