Warning! Do not request vaccinations in leg instead of arm

I recently had to have a set of injections. The first batch went in my arm and made my arm ache for a couple of days preventing me from climbing during that short period. A couple of weeks later the second batch was due, and this time I thought I'd be clever and request the vaccinations in my leg to enable me to climb still, or at least train on a fingerboard. This was a mistake! Do not repeat my decision. I have been hobbling around with a stiff leg for 3 days. Yes I have been on a finger board, but no it was not worth it.

The back is best for vaccinations I've found.

Just get it in the arm.

Depends which vaccinations they are. Intramuscular injections hurt if you tense up when they're coming!

Subcutaneous injections are a sharp scratch.

The buttock is a good place for injections.

I remember the really nasty jab was the first time I had a Typhoid one. My arm was sore for a week and couldn't hold a pen let alone climb!! Subsequent boosters over the years haven't caused such an extreme reaction.
