I'm after some advice on what training to do in between marathons. I've just run a trail marathon (quite hilly, Brecon beacons) and have another in 6 weeks time (Brecon beacons again, similar elevation). What should I do between now and then?
Normal training week is Tuesday 10/12k steady, Thursday = intervals, Saturday 10k steady, Sunday long run
Monday and Wednesday= swim
Any advice much appreciated. Thanks.

Warning: Amateur Advice
Definitely get a good rest to avoid injury. I have felt really good after some my longer races, but without slowing down a lot (in my case) I soon suffer, although I felt that I could run & run.

Ditto. Felt good at first, so I went straight back into training quite hard, but about 2-3 weeks after a big race it hit me. Was shattered for a week. Could have been illness or something, but I wonder if I simply didn't rest enough immediately after the race.

I'd take it easy for a couple of weeks (no I wouldn't, but I should!), I suppose a sort of reverse taper if you like, then couple of weeks normal training then couple of weeks taper again.

6 weeks is about right to benefit from the "bounce-back" from the first run. My advice (ie. what I'd do) is to train gently for a day or so then get straight back into your normal routine.
