Need some advice please. In the past I used Yetigaiters, but now have Salewa Raven GTX boots and Salewa goretex salopettes that have a press-stud at the bottom and a drwastring with a toggle. The fit seems pretty tight. I have some gaiters but they are a bugger to put on and then do up the boot laces. Can I get away with just the salopettes? Im climbing with a group up Gran Paradiso, so its only 4000m. Or should I bring Gorilla gaffer tape to seal the bottom of the salopettes to the boots?
Please, this is a serious question, so no smart alec replies.

Not a lot of people use gaiters anymore, especially if you have either a clip (for the shoe laces) or a bungee from the troos/salopettes under the boot. Well, unless you have really shoddy leg-work...

Most often these days, people use gaiters (lowcut) with running shoes to keep grit & grime away from the shoe... or to protect their expensive troos from shoddy crampon work.
