Sadie Renwick on Quartz Icicle, 4 kbSomething remarkable happened in the Llanberis Pass last week. Eighty women climbers from 24 different countries – Iceland to India, Bulgaria to Belgium, Japan and New Zealand – came to take part in the Pinnacle Club/ BMC Women's International Climbing Meet.

Abi Chard reports on the event, which saw both trad newbies and experienced climbers enjoying some Welsh rock in the sunshine.

Agreed! Was up at The Cromlech on the Saturday. Super inspiring stuff seeing 30+ E points going down including two ascents of Right Wall!

Was on the Cromlech on Saturday late afternoon when Eve did Right Wall. She did extremely well, even when her feet popped off just above the ledge. She was very calm and extremely humble when we were chatting at the top while we both belayed our partners up (we were on Cemetery Gates at the same time).

Today's news feels like a very stark contrast to the fantastic spirit of international collaboration and support we had last week, especially as so many of our guests were from other EU countries.

I picked up three ladies who were involved with this, they were hitching for a lift up to the top of the pass from the hut, they couldnt have been nicer!
