Ok, I've been quite stressed for all sorts of reasons, and it's an indication of this that I've onlY just got round to listening to some recent vinyl acquisitions.

Talk talk are just beautiful

In a similar vein

The lyrics alone choke me up...

Send your dreams
Where nobody hides
Give your tears
To the tide
No time
No time
There's no end
There is no goodbye
Disappear
With the night
No time
No time
No time
No time
No time

I saw Talk talk back in 82, they were support for a Genesis reunion concert at Milton Keynes, I thought they were quite strong but everyone just wanted the main act so they didn't get the best reception,

A shame. Maybe not the best fit. I've been listening to laughing stock. Sublime

I saw them at Milton Keynes too, they got bottled off. Wrong band for that gig.

They remain however my favourite band of that time. Even going back to the first album there are hints of the glorious post-rock sounds to come.

Mark Hollis's solo album is well worth a listen too.

I just can't imagine Genesis fans being the type to bottle someone off the stage.

Having said that, once upon a time Phil Collins did appear on the front cover of Kerrang!

They weren't quite bottled off, but they didn't last long, it had pissed it down all day and everyone just wanted to see Gabriel back with Genesis and Collins on the skins where he belonged

I remember a bottle of yellow liquid landing in the drummer's lap, poor sod.

I'm a tinsy bit hung over this morning (first day out of work for a month!) and the kids are out the house so it's been a little bit of Nick Drake, the Cinematic Orchestra and Talk Talk's "Spirit of Eden" as I lie in a 4 season down bag looking at snow flurries out the window reading Alex Honnold's book.

I need to be a bit hung over more often

If you are a Talk Talk fan, try Talk Talk remixed for heavy fix. Great listening.
