UKC

We visited Gilwern for the first time yesterday (and liked it). We saw quite a few bolted lines that aren't on the SWMC list, and some of these aren't on UKC either. Specifically, there are several that need adding to the small right wing of the Main Wall, and one or two on Main Wall itself. Does info on these recent additions exist anywhere?

I take it you mean 'Crag X' as in Gilwern just outside Abergavenny? Take a look at the link, it may give a little more info if it is.

Thanks - that looks to be the same list as currently on SWMC. UKC has a couple of extra routes, but there are still some missing.

Nobody know? It's unusual for climbers to go to the bother of equipping sports routes and yet not go public with details and claim the FAs online somewhere.

I don't think so - they're not hard routes and look complete and climbable.
Maybe I'll drop the crag moderator a line.

Are you sure you're looking at Gilwern and not Gilwern East? I haven't been since May but the list reflects what there was at that time.

Edit: actually there are a few extra routes on the harder side of things.

Paul Bowen (of this parish) used to be the one adding new routes around here, but I haven’t seen him for quite a while, so it may be someone new.

To the left hand buttress there seems to be lines not in the database as well.

If you mean the other Gilwern Quarry, there's been some re-bolting, and the odd line or 2 added recently.
