Given that the weather forecast for Glencoe/Fort William for the next few days is not great I may decide to look at the lake district instead. In Glencoe I'd normally camp at Red Squirrel campsite, love the location, near to Clachaig Inn and you camp fires are encouraged. Is there anywhere similar in the Lake District?

Lane foot farm just outside of Keswick (near thornthwaite I think) allows fires, usually quite a quiet site and the farm shop sells fresh eggs together with logs and kindling.
