Pete Dawson on Rosana 8a, Ceuse, France, 4 kb18-year-old Pete Dawson from Devon has had a productive first weekend at Malham since moving up to Manchester to begin his University studies. He managed to tick Bat Route 8c on his third go and Unjustified 8b+ in just two attempts.

So impressed watching the Bat Route effort. He had a bolt to bolt and dramatically fell off the top of the route on the first redpoint with people shouting beta up to him on the way up, to then do it next go when most would have been exhausted having fallen from the very top of a 30m+ route earlier on is something else.

Both Peter and his brother Luke have a great attitude to climbing, 'The Future indeed', as is tradition to call these wunderkinds.
