Ok, so a little back story to why I came across this. I shoot in handgun competitions and subsequently am in a facebook group for our club where we organize training etc. Because of this Facebook now believes I should also be the target of adverts from firearms manufactures.

But today an advert pops up with a pretty chick, looking rather sporty which when clicked links to this page:

https://www.defendyourlegacy.com/

Out of curiosity and mainly in the cute girl, I had a mooch and was just utterly astounded at the levels of cringeworthy, cliche, bollocks that is used to advertise guns to the american public. You would think they are aiming their adverts at some special kind of moron, but in reality it's intended to go to the average person.

Try and get through one of the videos without rolling your eyes and laughing in disbelief. The profiles are also hilarious.

But what really made my head spin was how uncanny the style of adverts are to ones we see in climbing, but instead of advertising new shoes or something, the page, the text and the videos are essentially advertising everyone should have the will to kill. And not only that, be completely prepared for it at all times.... By doing cross-fit?

This stuff is just completely bonkers. What the f*ck kind of world do they live in?

He's not saying ban it, why are you going on about 'rights' and telling people what to see?

I'm hoping you're having a laugh, not sure someone can be quite as stupid as your post makes you out to be.

You may have got this the wrong way round. It might be that by doing cross-fit and telling everyone about it endlessly it might be wise to carry a gun for when someone gets too bored.

You weren't kidding about the porn part either. Lots of gratuitous shots of blonde women in yoga pants holding guns near their butts.

I was surprised that the usual gun loving propaganda is about how guns are necessary to protect patriots from the government. "When the army turns against us and the UN helicopters are coming, the armed militia is the only hope." On that site, they talk about a threat in every quote but never say what it is. I'm guessing it's people with brown skin.

That's because it's what the 2nd amendment is supposed to be about:

"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
In reply to kdr001:
It's the "well regulated" bit that's the problem.

Presumably what Tarantino had in mind when he made this memorable spoof TV programme, which appears (watched by the Sam L Jackson and De Niro characters) in 'Jackie Brown'.

There's a cracking clip of a brunette in hot pants firing what looks like a .50 calibre Barrett where the recoil makes her cheeks wobble...

Or so I hear.

Jim Jeffries (an Ozzie stand-up comedian) took America to task over this. His argument boiled down to, "If it really does kick off with the the citizens versus the government, you do realise that the government has drones, don't you? You're bringing a gun to a drone fight."

What, incapable of independent thought, devoid of human reason and acting only in accordance with preprogrammed hostility...

When I put it like that.....

A thousand knuckle draggers across the continental USA with the best drones civilian money can buy. Ten thousand government drones with the best surveillance and targeting tech DARPA can supply, Hellfire missiles, and armies of pilots working around the clock. Jeb in Arkansas has got his work cut out for him, hasn't he?

It's a lovely picture. Don't think I'm going my holidays to the US next year because there's bound to be a "patriot" backlash.
