Please introduce me to Youtubes of anything new, music wise?

No rap, I just don't like it.

Emancipator. The best new music I've heard in ages.

By new, do you mean, brand new, or new to you? because there is always old, good stuff you've never heard. I've been reading a blog called ruth and martin's album club which proves exactly this point, and I thoroughly recommend as entertaining music writing. each week a guest (ranging from JK Rowling through to Buzzfeed journalists) reviews a classic album they've never heard before. Well worth the occasional ten minutes of your time, despite the dodgy website name.

I'm listening to what I'd call grown-up American folky music at the moment; it seems like an endless source of enjoyable stuff. For example:

Amy Petty - July. Beautiful build up to a superb climax.
Matt Harlan - Walter. Sad song about a much-missed dog.
Dominique Frassard - Creek. Easy going.
Ry Moran - Almost anything from his Groundwater CD.
Bob Schneider - A Long Way to Get.

Brand spanking new, or new over the last 12 months.

The (concept! heaven forfend) album is worth a listen; patchy, but the good bits are worth it.

This is the best band we've discovered in the last year. Fantastic live, like this:

He takes a good minute to even start singing but then you find out why the crowd is so patient. Feel the drop at 5 mins in.

And amazing in the car with the bass turned up. The accents aren't affected, these guys really are German. A teutonic Beach Boys who've double-dropped on Electronica and Rock:

Album is called Sadnecessary and there isn't a duff song, which is more than I can say for their videos.

Yes very good. Here's a link to 3 of their albums:

Also discovered this band (Half Moon Run) at a festival in France recently:

The best band I've seen this year - Estrons youtube.com/watch?v=EErfTqtnEhw&

Or maybe Slaves - youtube.com/watch?v=sCU9ZKgfwlc&

And this is rather good, with an intriging video

Some cracking youtubes there. And who does not like a bit of sitar music?

I'm also getting some inspiration for a music video.

I do like Slaves.

Cheer up London and sockets are both great - as is their cover of Shutdown by Skepta.

Have you heard Saint Paul and the Broken Bones? Nothing new stylistically, it's 60's soul but they can play and the guy can sing.
You should try Tenement TV, new bands playing in a Glasgow tenement livingroom. Dan Croll playing Sweet Disarray is my current favourite. It also has the simply filmed aesthetic you're talking about for your own project.

When you go on youtube in the right hand column always look for the least viewed track and then follow the journey. You'll meet the new stuff eventually.

Postmodern jukebox version of Hey ya (originally by Outkast). Great video 😀

Anoushka Shankar, to whom I provided a link earlier, is on Jools Holland's programme later tonight. Her album 'Land of Gold' is one of those which gradually gets under your skin. Well worth a listen if you like anything from melodic rock to ECM jazz.

Might be worth a watch later on or on catch up for anyone tempted.

Lots of weird soundscapes. Sorta like The Orb, only without the drugs. Or Aphex Twin, only without the, erm, drugs.
youtube.com/watch?v=gabuAyRAx-I&

Talking of Aphex twin, did you know that slowing his stuff right down is a 'thing'?
youtube.com/watch?v=L-xseEr0TPM&

And the superbly named Ringo DeathStar. For some shoe gazing'tastic tunes.
