Just wondering if anyone has one, what they bought it for and how well it worked? Are they worth the money?

As somebody that seems to be prone to tendon problems (patella tendonitis, mostly cleared up tennis/golfers elbow) the thing is an absolute god-send. Should be required kit IMHO!

Orange roller seems to be not much use unless you have giant forearms, the grey rubber one is too sticky and just rips out all the hair on your arms. White plastic attachment is fantastic.

Unsure how much effect the brutal massage had in isolation, but it allowed me to get the pain to a manageable level so I could complete a program of eccentrics with a flexbar which cleared up my quite severe tennis elbow. I'm religious about using my armaid after climbing, and use it on most rest days too. My only gripe is that the handles at the top seem like they could be better designed. If your hands are wrecked after a days climbing the last thing you want to be doing is essentially a wide pinch grip :

edit: forgot to mention that the strap that goes around your leg is useless IMHO. best thing to do is remove the whole thing and sit on an office chair or similar and put the base between your thighs. Far less fiddly though there is the risk of skin getting trapped in the pivot... (don't ask)

Thanks. Sounds promising. I'd seen some positive reviews by US climbers but wasn't sure if they were entirely independent or were part of some sponsorship deal.

I was a bit sceptical too, but having spent ages faffing with a lacrosse ball to get the same effect I went for it and it's the best thing I've ever done. My arms in general recover much quicker from climbing. Get a foam roller for your legs/back/shoulders and some goda accupressure rings for the fingers and you are basically set for life.

You can achieve the same results for the price of a length of theraband and wooden broom handle.

Wrap up the forearm with the theraband, refer to voodoo flossing YouTube videos, do you range of motion actions such as a press-up, or forearm and wrist stretches. Roll the muscle on the broom handle on a hard surface and place pressure down into the pole.

Lacrosse ball is too wide to get into the muscle, you could try a golf ball or one of these: http://www.66fit.com.au/locker-room-pocket-physio-triangle.html

Body shop do a wooden roller which you can get quiet a bit of pressure through: https://www.thebodyshop.com/en-gb/body/body-massage-oils/total-body-massage...

You can buy them in the UK here https://www.theclimbingacademy.com/shop/rehab/armaid/ - buying from the US involves costly import duty.
