Hi,

Christmas present for my husband. Is there much difference between these watches? As ever looking for it to pick up a signal quickly...both okay at this?

Thanks in advance.

Lynsey.

In reply to Lynsety:

I think for these models the main factor with how quickly it gets a satellite fix is whether you've recently synced it.

With mine (a 220, which is the 225 but without the heart rate sensor), if it's talked to my phone or been plugged into the computer in the last five days it gets a fix within five seconds or so. If I've forgotten to sync it, the longest it takes (in amongst awkward tall buildings) is about three minutes. Every time I do forget it's annoying to the point where I'm slightly better at remembering in future.

Personally, I prefer the heart rate chest strap to having an optical sensor on the watch, so given the 225/230 choice, I'd go 230.

...To clarify, three minutes is unusually worst-case slow, and 'normal slow' is more like 45 seconds.
