I want to do some mountain walks in Snowdonia and would like a guide book with grades and routes. I am looking to start very easy and work my way up. i.e. scrambling and walking not rock climbing. I've done Snowdon Pyg track and Pen yr Ole Wen and looking for more of the same.

Is this the right book for me?

North Wales Scrambles: A Guide to 50 of the Best Mountain Scrambles in Snowdonia by Garry Smith.

Are there online resources?

Thank you

Just to be clear the routes you have done so far would not generally be called scrambles so when you say more of the same do you want more routes like the ones you have done or do you want to move into more scrambling terrain (where you need hands and feet to progress)?

Both please. What's the term used for not scrambling routes? Hill walking?

I'm not familiar with the book but just to let you know some scrambles will feel like rock climbing. There are routes described as "scrambles" that will require the use of a rope by most people.

You sound like you've got your head screwed on so I'm sure you'll stay within what's 'safe'. I'll post if I think of a good book.

Starting easy and getting more difficult...

If you are a rock fan then this one has some pleasant walks with an emphasis on interesting geology:

There are some great ridge walks:

And for scrambling I haven't found anything significantly better than:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Scrambles-Snowdonia-Cicerone-Guide-Ashton/dp/18528...

Note that while grade 1 and 2 scrambles are usually fairly predictable there is a wide range of difficulty and seriousness in grade 3.

Perfect. I really fancy the Glyders and that's included. Photography is my thing.

Generally people will refer to the Pyg Track as a "hill walk", so for this sort of route you want a mountain walking guide. Sorry I don't have any recomendations because generally these days I make up walks from lookig at a map.

Scrambles will almost always involve using your hands. Two great reasonably amenable classics in Snowdonia would be Tryfan North Ridge or Crib Goch ridge.
