Any suggestions for upgrading our kids' sleeping bags from current cheapie bags to something more suited to the outdoors in coldish camping weather? Given that they are are only 130/140 cms tall, is there anyone doing bags more suited to little people?
Cheers

I'm not sure if any of the kids sized bags are warm enough for winter camping. A ladies sleeping bag might be worth looking at, and will last as they grow a bit. A fleece liner is a good idea for children and anyone else that feels the cold.

Alpkit point5 (half bag) over their existing bag.

I use lightweight down bags for my little ones. The extra length means they can ruffle them up for more warmth. Sometimes they zip them together to make a double and always use liners. Also they pack small enough and light enough that they can carry them along with a blow up mat. Down side is they were expensive but it does make wild camping trips so much easier.

I got my son one of these and am very impressed. Even extends for when they grow!

I hadn't heard "shrink it, pink it" before though - I'll remember that one!

Not much use to you, but our youngest has a Big Agnes bag - it's a synthetic half bag, with a sleeve that the thermarest slips into. This means he can't slip off the mat in the night, is fully enclosed but can still move around, and the hood/collar means no cold spots. Being synthetic it is cleanable relatively easily if need be, and despite being synthetic as it is only a half bag it packs down to the size of a normal 2/3 season down bag.
