Hi all, I'm looking for a guide cook to cover winter climbing in the U.K., I imagine it would actually be 3 separate ones for the main areas I'd be hitting- Scotland, Wales, lakes
Any suggestions ?
If you are an occasional visitor 'Scottish Winter Climbs' is adequate for Scotland rather than the various area guides. The Lakes are covered by 'Lake District Winter Climbs' published by Cicerone, be careful to get the 2012 edition as lots of places still have the older one. Can't speak for Wales.
And for Wales - Welsh Winter Climbs.
For inspiration you may enjoy the classic Ken Wilson, John Barry and Dave Alcock book Cold Climbs. Large format coffee table book with photos that make it look fun ( all lies of course! )
