Some information sources for conditions in the Chamonix region:
The Chamoniarde/Office de Haute Montagne (same organization, two names) website http://www.chamoniarde.com/?page_id=1863&lang=en puts out regular mountain condition reports, (as infrequent as 2 weeks out of season and up to every 2 days in season). The reports are initially in French, with an English translation hopefully online within 24hrs later. The same reports (Fr,En), can be seen on the Chamonix Tourist Office app (Chamonix Lumiplan) and on the Alpine Club site http://www.alpine-club.org.uk/ac2/news/chamonix-condtions

Another excellent resource is the newly re-vamped Camptocamp site (V6 since last week). https://www.camptocamp.org To avoid information overload, login, (free) choose the language interface, then under preferences select your activities and choose the areas of interest. For Chamonix, I would recommend, Mont Blanc, Aravis, Aiguilles Rouges, Aosta Valley and Valais W.

The MountaiNow app is also now available since a couple of weeks

I'm having real difficulty adjusting to the new camptocamp. I know I just need to spend more time on it, but I can't help but think that an awful lot of data has somehow gone missing.

Anyway, here's a quick update:

Surprisingly-climbable ice at the Cremerie today. A bit thin in places, a bit wet in others, and a little brittle considering how warm it was, but not bloody bad for June...
When we arrived there was a team of two on the first route, so we walked all the way down to the routes at the other end, by the time we'd finished and walked back there was another pair, a trio, and the original two. Busy day!

In reply to Pete Houghton:
Quite a few people are having trouble with the new version of camptocamp. I have just translated a status report from the president. See https://forum.camptocamp.org/t/camptocamp-new-release/174387
which might help. The AC funalps site, http://www.alpine-club.org.uk/funalps/ which is mainly a gateway into camptocamp, has one or two glitches with the new version, but on the whole represents a real improvement. Any feedback for either site would be most welcome. Gus
