The Lakeland Climbing Centre (LCC) is very excited to announce it has signed an agreement to lease a 38,000 square foot warehouse in Harrow, North West London. This is the second London wall for LCC, based at Kendal Wall in the Lake District, following on from the success of VauxWall in Central London. LCC is a sister company of The Yorkshire Climbing Company, which owns The Depot Walls in Leeds, Manchester and Nottingham and is currently developing a new Centre in Birmingham. LCC is hoping to emulate the very high standards of build and operation of VauxWall and The Depot. The Harrow Centre is a 5 minute walk from Harrow-on-the-Hill station which is served by National Rail and the Metropolitan Line, just 18 minutes travel from Baker Street.
Centre and Project Manager, Tom Hull, said “finding the right location in London is incredibly difficult and we have kissed many frogs before settling on Harrow. We now have the opportunity to create an exceptional facility of national importance given the size and open feel of the space. It will be about 8 times larger than VauxWall, within a warehouse that is twice the height. This will raise the bar for new climbing centres around the Country, with a number of innovative features and the space to cater for all ages and abilities. There is still a lot of work to do before we open, hopefully in autumn 2017.”
