My Microsoft Lumia 610 is busted. I have no idea about phones anymore. What is a sensibly priced smart phone that can handle email, web surfing, decent camera on both faces. Fast enough to use Iplayer. Inexpensive, so not an Iphone. Maybe a few hundred quid tops.

I'm a bit non plussed by the lack of apps on ms phones, so I guess it'll have to be android, although my old HTC desireX was properly crap. Are modern versions of Android systems a bit better now?

Firefox - I think - cheap on Amazon, run cyanogen version of android

All of those get good updates and reasonable pricing

You'll find Android much improved now I expect.

Motorola Moto G4 Plus. Around £260 for the option with the biggest RAM and internal memory.

I just bought myself a Nomu S30. Very similar spec to a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge but around £200.
