Thank you, I'm aware of VRASTA guide book but as an exped we may visit for a couple of days but the majority will be over towards VT in the East, struggling to get anything resembling a guide. Website is really difficult to navigate and I'm not sure where some of the declared areas are as it doesn't reveal the location, Bulgaria is trying to remain secretive and rightly so, having us naughty brits rubbing ourselves all over their rock!

I'm after a guide for VT if anyone can led one so I can copy it prior to going in March.

Thanks

Hi,

I'm sure I saw a guide in Outside in hathersage last time I was there browsing around.

Other than this, this is the order website: http://eshop.climbingguidebg.com/VRATSA_CLIMBING_GUIDEBOOK

I am unsure whether they ship outside of Bulgaria, so probably best to get it from Outside.

Have an awesome trip!

Also, this and google translate should cover pretty much most of it.

Once the official guidebook was published all the topo photos from the website there were taken down to encourage the people using the guidebook, which is not bad really, given how much work would have gone into it.

If by VT you mean Veliko Tarnovo, I could send you all the info I copied from the climbingguidebg.com site in a pdf file. You may as well contact this guy https://www.facebook.com/cliffie.surtees?fref=ts who owns a camping near the cliffs. He's an expat brit and he's a climber too, so he might give you some advice on the routes.
If you're into trad climbing, I have put up some single pitch routes in the southern side of the Sv. Troitsa cliff (info and pictures here: https://cleanclimbing.wordpress.com/2016/11/07/informatii-actualizate-despr... )

I thought the information on the bulgaria climbing website was really good, although it does take some getting used to.

We ended up using an iPad at the crag with screenshots of the website, although I'm sure the same could be achieved (and probably easier/ quicker to use and reference) by just printing out the topos from the website?

Awesome country with some great climbing!!

I've actually been seriously thinking of buying some property out there. The prices are like France was 30 years ago.

As an example,

Other than the language, any disadvantages that anyone knows of?
