Just purchased a down sleeping bag that seems to have been in its stuff sack for some time , what's the best way to uncompress the sleeping bag ?

Tumble drying on a low heat with a couple of new tennis balls thrown in should do the trick.

You can wash it at 40c and leave it to dry in your house, periodically fluffing it up every few hours. Make sure you spin it to get as much water out as possible. It should take a day or 2 to properly dry it but it will fill out nicely. That's how I get down stuff back to its best.
