On a day free in Rio I climbed the Corcovado with Kika and her boyfriend many (9) years. I found them through Google and I borrowed shoes and a harness from them. I don't know if they are still going.
We had a great day out, it took an afternoon and we did the trade route 5ish. It was hot and sticky but going over the balcony at the top was fun. I had a gun pointed at me (not unusal in Rio) from the army but we got it sorted.
We did go and have a look at the Sugar Loaf first but it was mobbed..so left.
The final point was they weren't insured....
