Looking to buy a panel van to convert for a climbing trip round Europe and potentially North Africa.
Like the idea of a high top (2.3m ish) - the extra space would be useful, but I'm a bit worried about height limits.

Just wondering what others' experience is, lots of people must have done it with a high top - any problems with car park barriers at crags, supermarkets etc, getting on to ferries, or anything else?

Thanks...

In reply to Kaisl:

2.3m is a good height to enable the incorporation of a bar or some means of building side supports to the ply line to support a hang board on. .
Such 2nd hand vans are out there, but you don't often see them in a proper lwb config, usually mwb or pretend lwb.
Fiat Ducato is called super high top, Peugeot + citroen is H3,... here's a useful resource...

Would be good to see your finished conversion

If using French toll roads, be aware a higher van may mean you pay more as height dictates cost.
