On this forum?

Looking for any to give an opinion on an x-ray.

I feel my own vet may be keeping bad news for me out of misguided consideration.

You need to talk to your vet again. No vet is going to comment on another's radiograph without it going through proper channels. You can request a second opinion from a practice of your choice at any time.

I'd be pretty surprised if that was the case - that would be a pretty Herriot era approach, and have the potential to result in professional censure.

But, if you want to check then it's reasonable to ask for a second opinion from another vet, or to ask your vet if it would be possible to get the radiograph reviewed by a specialist veterinary radiologist. Note that in both cases the vet giving the second opinion or the specialist giving a view on a radiograph will require at the very least a good summary history including details of investigations performed by your vet so far - and this comes best from your current vet.

Can be a bit of a ticklish thing to raise with your vet, if I was you I'd probably claim massive paranoia and ask if the images could be checked by a specialist to set your mind at ease.

Well that was rather more concise!
