Hi everyone

First post so apologies if this is in the wrong place.

Looking at opinions on these https://www.decathlon.co.uk/mountaineering-boots-blue-id_8324356.html?gclid...
https://www.simond.com/mountaineering-boots-blue-extra-sizes36-37-38-39-40-...

Can't seem to find much info regarding classification (B1 or B2?) or much else in terms of review, apart from a post on here from 2013.

I am looking at a first set of boots for winter walking/easy routes and the price is obviously a big factor. Are these a good place to start or am I better off spending a little more on something else?

Thanks

They look fine for that IF they fit. Larger selection of opinions from customers (in several languages) on the French site, mostly positive (https://www.decathlon.fr/chaussure-alpinism-bleu-id_8324356.html )

B2. The images show a step in crampon being fitted. I don't know about the boot, but all my other Simond gear is a decent standard.

In reply to samt46:

Good boot, a medium fit (not hugely narrow/low like La Sportiva, not as wide/high as Scarpa).
