Does anyone know if I can hire a bouldering mat at Ratho or anywhere else in Edinburgh? I'll be up there on Monday and was thinking of going to Salisbury Crags and/or Agassiz rock but don't know whether to take my pad on easyjet or not.

At both those spots you can fairly easily get away without a pad, although it's quite nice to have one for the Black Traverse at the crags (which I STILL can't do). If you do really want one, and happen to be in Leith, I'll happily leave my (old and knackered) pad out in the garden for you to borrow, as long as you leave it back. PM me if so.

That's really kind. I'll PM you and see if it works. I'll have a car so might be able to swing by there, but interesting you say I might not need one ... I suppose the landings are soft then?
