Stag Rocks

Me and a friend went up a route that veered off left of stag route below the ice fall. It went right round the corner and up a groove that after about 50 meters joined stag route. Can't find it on any topo anywhere.

Any ideas on what it was.
Felt loads harder than other III/IV's we've climbed.
