I am looking for an airbag and saw this one:

Quite cheap in my opinion. Who has some experiences whith this airbag? Or any recommendations?

I know almost nothing about ABS, but think that one is cheap because it doesn't have a rucksack. I think various companies produce base units which you can then strap on whatever sized ruksak you want. 10litre for a bit of slackcountry; 24 l for longer trips, 30+ litre for proper tours.

so you either need to buy the sac too, or just ski around in the bare Ruk (if you see what I mean(

from what I can gather, the ability to change the size of the ruksak, and the price, are the only * reasons a UK based skier would ever buy anything other than a Pieps/BD Jetforce.

* well, maybe the colour of the pieps

I guess you know this, but I think that site is alpinetrek.co.uk. Always worth checking the euro prices against the pound prices since sometimes they are cheaper on one or other.

Especially when they have a 15 euro/pound discount.

I think that ABS is 300 euro or £254. If you buy it from the UK website, you get it for £233, and you don't pay postage

(assuming you're UK based, which is of course a wild assumption)

I guess the "issues" are:

- Relatively untested
- battery performance in the cold
- fan reliability
- weight

Like the canister packs, the next generation may get rid of the above issues.

Are you really trying to say that this isn't a piece of advertising spam?

Which airbags do you (ukclimbing members) use? Which brand?

I've carried snowpulse bags for 4 years now. Never used it in anger.
Will be switching to electric next year because it's far easier to fly with and you get multiple uses in a day. I'm hoping that battery weight will come down a bit though.
