I went for a post night shift ski today. Unfortunately had to go all the way from Glasgow to Aonach Mor as Meall a'Bhuiridh didn't have enough cover. Very much worth it though, with a wee tour over to the Aonach Beag col affording sun drenched views of the Ben, Loch Linnhe, Mamores, Glen Coe and the Grey Corries.

In terms of climbing conditions, the east face of Aonach Mor looked like a windslabby death trap. Couldn't see much evidence of ice forming, the steeper bits had been largely stripped by the sun and the cornices are reasonably well developed. There was a snow bollard near the top of Easy Gully that looked perhaps a day old.

The shady north face of Aonach Beag is starting to form some ice, however, though it's got a long way to go.
