I am trying to understand the difference between insurance from the Austrian Alpine Club for the full year - versus multi-trip insurance from the BMC. The BMC is much more expensive to cover the same sort of trip... which makes me think they are offering something that the Austrian Alpine Club aren't...
Does anyone have any experience with using both of these services and any knowledge of the differences?
For reference I am looking for it to cover a couple of Font trips and a hiking and climbing trip to Austria.
AAC does not include normal travel insurance i.e. for lost baggage, cancelled flights etc. BMC does. I use AAC for trips to Europe and take out separate travel insurance. It's still cheaper and IMO good enough.
