Hello, has anyone got a copy of the 1983 North Wales New Climbs by Andy Pollitt. If you have, I would love to read it as I am writing about the North Wales slate scene. PM me.

There are only 5 routes on slate in that guide, one of which in Twll Mawr I still shudder about over 30 years later. Jeez ;-(

I had a 'challenging' day out around 1981 on Opening Gambit which was like all great things, really brilliant in retrospect, but a bit full on. You wouldn't think a wall could hold so many teetering stacks of slate in stasis, just waiting to take you with them.

Sadly it did, I vaguely recall two students in the 80's or early 90's dying in Twll Mawr, I'm not sure but I think it was on Opening Gambit (which has since fallen down).
