Has anyone been on the Ben recently (20th-22nd) that can advise on conditions or recommend any ice routes in decent nic?

In reply to G0rd0n:

I suspect avalanche risk will have dissuaded suitors.

This is the feedback I got yesterday in another thread when I asked about conditions on NE Buttress:

It will be buried under soft snow (hard work but climbable), but the bigger issue currently is the avalanche hazard on the approach to the route, and in fact, looking at the SAIS forecast, getting to most routes on the mountain.
A team triggered an avalanche in the East Gully of the Douglas Boulder today, and there are reports that the foot of the West Gully of the DB had been cross-loaded with wind blown snow too.

Sorry, might be a bit late, but I was on NE Buttress today: http://www.westcoast-mountainguides.co.uk/great-conditions-ne-buttress/

Does anyone know if Tower Ridge is in ok conditions for an attempt tomorrow? We were a bit worried about possible avalanche risk.

Many thanks,

Mike

Getting on to Tower Ridge via the East Gully of the Douglas Boulder should be fine tomorrow.
