Valley base for South side of Bernese Oberland

I'm hoping to spend a week in the Bernese Oberland this summer and keen to avoid the Grindelwald side, having been there a couple of times before.

For access to the Concordia hut and surrounding peaks does anyone have a valley base and camping recommendation? Despite spending a reasonable amount of time in Switzerland I'm not that familiar with the area, especially in summer. Any tips appreciated!

Spent many happy weeks at Ulrichen, but years ago now. Easy access (train or bus) down the valley to Fiesch for Aletsch, equally easy bus up the Grimsel for access to east end of area. Have done the traverse Grimsel to Fiesch several times, taking in different peaks each time. Huts/ bivvies/camping spots in all the right places. Love it. Tried camping lower down the valley, but horribly noisy and commercial. Have fun, John.
