Sent a pair of my favourite green anasazis for reviving by this guy in Greece

Haven't got them back yet but based on the video above and the photos he's sent me of the on going work, the quality workmanship and value for money looks outstanding

How much does it work out as?
In reply to Greasy Prusiks:

It cost me £5 to post them out. He's charging 27 Euro for resole and 8 for a complete rerand not randpatch
 Greasy Prusiks 24 Mar 2017
In reply to Colin Scotchford:

That's pretty reasonable. Thanks for the link.

In reply to Colin Scotchford:

That's pretty impressive!

Be interested to see the results on the 5.10's, I have a pair that are coming to end of their life too..
 Fraser 24 Mar 2017
In reply to Colin Scotchford:

That's a very impressive refurbishment. Must say though, I've never seen a pair of shoes in such a state - I'd have consigned them to the bin years earlier!
 Mark Kemball 24 Mar 2017
In reply to Colin Scotchford:

Please feedback once you receive them.
In reply to Mark Kemball:

Will do. May take a week or 2 as he was waiting for a delivery of onyxx rubber. I was offered a 5 day turn round if I wanted to go with vibram options
 jon 25 Mar 2017
In reply to Colin Scotchford:

Very impressed. When you say 27 euros for a resole, is the for one shoe or a pair?
In reply to jon:

I'm assuming per pair. I'll let you know if I find there's a surprise waiting for me
 ripper 27 Mar 2017
In reply to Colin Scotchford:

very interested to hear more about the results!
In reply to ripper:

Just had a photo showing completed work

Total cost €35 resole and complete rerand for the pair inc postage. Cost me £5 to post them out.

Will report back once I've got them back and tried them out
 jon 29 Mar 2017
In reply to Colin Scotchford:

Sounds pretty good to include a complete rand for that price, and they look good too. Let us know if they still feel the same.
 Mark Kemball 29 Mar 2017
In reply to Colin Scotchford:

Looks vastly superior to re-soles I've had in the past - next time I need a re-sole, I'll know where to try.

Likewise . I almost chucked several pairs of 5.10 pinks greens velcros recently , none of them anywhere near as bad as that . Got to be worth a punt I reckon.

In reply to Colin Scotchford:

more to the point, how did he get them green again?!
In reply to jon:

I've just got the anasazis back from Greece. Tried them out this evening, they feel great, very pleased with them. I'd say, as resoles go, they're the most faithful to the original shoe I've had.

In reply to Colin Scotchford:

Thanks very much for that, obviously very good value. Though I suppose the ultimate test is do they still smell the same...
In reply to jon:

Well, I can't see any hope of changing that for the better

Do you have an email for the company?

Thanks

In reply to Colin Scotchford:

What? And i just bought yet another pair of shoes and binned like 10 of them which were not as far gone as those Miura...

In reply to Colin Scotchford:

Hi Colin, keen to try these guys. Who did you use for postage to get it for £5? Cheers
 robert-hutton 30 Apr 2017
In reply to Colin Scotchford:

Just received back my shoes rerand and sole from George from fixarock in Greece and great job, quick turnaround all for 35€

Not very environmentally friendly, sending them to Greece.
Are local options any good / affordable?

Feet first in Chesterfield are good and I've had good reports about the guy in llanberis.

I doubt that they were individually flown over to Greece, like Bono's hat.
Besides, its giving work to our bankrupt, fellow European partners.

No but neither are bottles of wine to here from california or Australia. I buy local stuff, but not always, but i try think about + do what might be better for the planet. Perhaps you + OP do in other ways.
Not easy as possibly more than half of what we all own comes from china type of distances.
But i knew there were uk resolers, seen the ads at the wall.

I had an old pair of vapour Vs (the orange ones) resoled by Llanberis and they are fantastic. As good looking as the photos of the greens though they were not that far gone to begin with. They are like a pre broken in brand new pair of boots.

They only deal with Vibram rubber now though so if that's an issue no good!

And the price?

Have to say, the job he did on my VS Instincts was immaculate.

Just had 7 pairs done by George for myself and some friends. Excellent service and really high quality work. I'll be using him again in the future.
