Hi Guys,

Panning a trip to Dartmoor at the Easter weekend, I've had a trawl through previous pots on Dartmoor campsites and the one above seems to get recommended a lot.
I assume it is just a turn up and pitch your tent kind of deal, and you can't book in advance?
Does anyone have an idea of how busy it is likely to get on an Easter Bank Holiday Weekend? What are the chances of us getting turned away because it is full?

Thanks

Lee

Ive only ever stayed at the Cockingford Farm campsite, have had a few trips there at Easter and there has always been room.
However, there isn't loads of room for tents and the only really flat area is near the gate as you enter the field, but its not too bad if you pitch near the track further along. Make sure to check the next field for spaces.
The toilet block is simple but the showers are hot and there is a outside sink to do your washing up.
Two water taps, one by the entrance and another by the sink/tiolet block.
Pub and little shop in Widdecombe, easy drive to Bone Hill, Hound Tor, Haytor etc.
Have a good trip
Pete
