Anyone climbed at Masson Lees Quarry lately?
I'm just wondering if there's any access or other issues to know about. I've been volunteered to arrange a weekend for a few mates.
Cheers
In reply to JEF:

No problems with access. Limited parking nearby - better to leave extra cars down in Matlock

I've been thinking of visiting but heard it doesn't dry out till a bit later in the year. If you do go would be interested to know what the conditions were like.

On such a day and you plump for a dump like that?

In reply to Mike Highbury:

Masson is not a dump. As peak quarries go it's one of the most pleasant ones. It's far from the road, quiet and sheltered. And for the 7a/7a+ grade I don't think there's anywhere better.

Cheers, dry earlier than I'd thought. Will make the trip up in the next few weeks then.
In reply to JEF:

I've added the BMC RAD link to the Masson Lees Quarry page. It's got a green light there.

Dossing in woodsheds has created a perverse aesthetic.

If it was that much of a dump surely you wouldn't have climbed there more than once Mike!

These are not mutually exclusive.

So out of interest where would you suggest at that grade range then?

In reply to stp:

Spain.

In reply to JayK:

What? Spain better than Masson!? OK I'll have to concede that one, though technically it's not part of the Peak District.

I bet you can't dry tool la rambla though ( at least when anyone is looking)!
