Could anyone kindly describe a route and or direct me to a web page with a route; mountain biking, starting from the bend in the road at the top of Mam Tor near Edale...?

I've walked all around that area but never biked but I know there numerous popular bits of route near by like Jacobs ladder etc. just looking for a nice way to link things up.

The route as described doesn't actually go over Mam Tor, but it you start from the Nick you follow a BW along the crest of Rushup Edge, then Roych Clough, Mount Famine, Kinder and Jacobs ladder down to Edale - a greatest hits package of MTB in the peak. Getting back from Edale depends on how much you got left in your legs - direct up to Hollins Cross and back along the flanks of Mam Tor, or drop into Castleton. Or if you fancy a big day out you can aim for Hope Cross and maybe the beast.

Pretty good conditions at the moment

this website gives descriptions of all the downhill bits around that area, it's quite useful. Doesn't do complete loops, but an OS map is all you need.
