Going to Chamonix for couple of weeks this summer, just after the busy time in September, and looking for some bunkhouse like accommodation. Did look at the Mer De Glace campsite, but carrying a tent/sleeping bag and everything else is a pain, and tbh I'd quite like not to live in a tent/on a roll mat for 2 weeks.

Does anyone know bunkhouse/cabin like accommodation in the same area? Have looked but can't find anything suitable or reasonably priced.

I liked the Chamonix Lodge. I think they had seperate little bunkhouses too. Chalet Ski Station was decent too

It is very good. Best of hostel type accommodations around the valley. And have decent kitchen you can cook your food.
But was booking few days ago for July and they unfortunately hiked up prices nearly twice in just two years.

Have always liked Ski Chalet Brevent. A bit basic, but friendly and a great place to meet folk. The owner / manager (Veronica) is a legend!

Argentiere has a gite house LHS of the road if you were heading to Vallorcine.
