Cheddar South side out of bounds all Easter w.e Fri to Monday?

Hi,
Is it true that all of Cheddar South side, that's the whole lot on the right side of the road going up hill, is totally prohibited for climbing, from this Friday to Monday inclusive, as well as 3 other bank holidays, and the whole of July and August, each and every year?

That is correct (according to notices at the gorge, yesterday). There's too many tourists in the firing line!

yes, every year - as well as tourists there's car parking under the cliffs on that side too.

You need insurance to climb there at any time (comes with BMC membership)
