At least he now seems to be listening to some of the experts. Is there reason for a faint glimmer of hope?

Which ones?

Still no sign of him contacting any mental health experts.

ah, but it was a beautiful piece of chocolate cake!

A little bit, yes. He's such an ego that he's maybe realised at last that the best thing he can do – given that he's lazy and completely out of his depth – is to listen to his hard-working, loyal, and (some of them probably) quite pragmatic, advisors. Let them do the work. All he has to do is take the credit for it

Yes it's all going swimmingly, USA with a president bombing a middle east country, that always works out well!!
There was a moment of hope with Trump, an understanding between the America and Russia seemed possible, the main schism afflicting the world for the last 70 years looked to have a possible solution, however flawed and badly led those countries appeared, instead, hijacked by the cruel and devious Assad and his ghastly chemicals (or the IS plot suggested by the Russians)

Based on the hope by Russia that Trump would let them do whatever they wanted?

You mean he is going to announce his new climate change stance ?????

I agree its looking more hopeful as that idiot Bannon is being more and more marginalised.

And so far the New York State Attorneys office has been kept quiet. Apparently he gathered his 600 pus lawyers for the State together and said we are going to have to protect the constituition when Trump was sworn in.So far apart from a few immigration issues, there has been little change.

And that would functionally differ from the proceeding 70 years in what way?

we probably need to accept that we are unable to change russian views on Ukraine, Poland, the Baltic states, NATO, homosexuality and now maybe Syria by simply being in opposition. Since the second war the distrust between the east and west has driven conflicts around the globe. My hope was that an easing of tension between these states because of Trumps alleged isolationism would eventually reduce the death toll and misery however he has listened to the experts and started bombing, the provocation may have been extreme but more American intervention in the middle east, good news? Doesn't work for me
