So the other day I purchased my first pair of more performance orientated shoes (Boreal Lynx). as they are close fitting compared to previous shoes iv noticed that a small air gap occurs sometimes when climbing.. then I jump of and the resultant noise can be a bit embarrassing... anyone else experience this issue?
I had a pair once that expelled a small amount of air, with associated noise as I walked, every single step. not sure which was more embarrassing. walking towards the toilet, or away from
I have experienced this before and it normally goes away once you break the shoes in a bit. If the problem worsens however, it can lead to ' shoe sharts' which really does make a mess.
I've had this before. I found it to be the result of a very slightly ill fitted shoe. Not necessarily too big, just not quite the shape of my foot. Once the shoes were broken in I started wearing a super thin pair of socks which filled the tiny little areas of extra volume and the shoe felt more supportive and the shoe farts stopped. Might be worth a try!
It also stopped the shoes from smelling, which was nice.
I took a power drill to my la Sportiva solutions to stop this. Two 5mm holes round the disc shaped logo on the heel sorted it out and hasn't compromised the shoe in any way.
In reply to the title of the thread, my first thought was, ...
... why have you been eating your shoes? , that must smell gross.
Perhaps avoid cauliflower too.
Maybe watch it also with broccoli.
