I first heard about them in high school in Seattle in 1985/86. They are not so daft, really, most of their songs are rather political. Also, listen to the riff on Stupid World, hard to believe that Feed USA Fetus came out before Master of Puppets! In any case, the whole album was made (and named!!!) to piss off fundamentalist Christians who wanted to ban "evil" lyrics, but could not for freedom of speech reasons.

That's an interesting back story to the title, I'm getting the impression they were less 'daft' and more 'angry politically' from further listening.

Stupid Songs seems daft though.
