You and Me and the Devil Makes Three, 4 kbYou and Me and the Devil Makes Three documents a scary near miss on a descent in Alaska. In 2011, Max Talsky and Jacon Mayer spent 35 days on Denali and walked away without standing on the summit. Two years later Jacon and Max teamed up with Nancy Hansen to climb the Harvard...Read more

Cracking video! Made me both entranced and repulsed by the idea of mountaineering.

That's the way to make a mountaineering film. Excellent.

Excellent, thanks UKC.

Compressed quality issues aside, that's actually one of the better mountaineering films I've seen.

But then I do like chicken...

In reply to UKC News: Very enjoyable video. Good to see a UKC Fri night video where they keep their shirts on and there wasnt a bouldering mat in sight.

Good grief. Excellent and terrifying. My palms were sweating from the 20 min point (where the Harvard route gets very technical === hard. Incredibly well put together video

Very good film, very nice to see the technical stuff easily washed in, belay devices, slings, rope coils etc. It made me wonder how much else they had all done on rock and ice to be confident and good enough. The camera's were great, angle's amazing and each of the routes definitely inspiring.

I was expecting the devil part to be what I would call bigger though am extremely relieved really this didn't happen. These people reminded me beautifully from the very start how climbing is like leaving that at home. Good sense of humour overcomes cleverness so inherent in the literary tradition and my own daily grind.

Wow, thanks everyone! It's wonderful to receive all this positive feedback, especially after getting rejected by the adrenaline-porn peddlers at Banff. This was my first film, so I'll be the first to admit it has issues (@Damo, agreed, chief among them is the visual clarity and color grading—next time hopefully I'll have a budget >$0).

But all the love definitely makes me want to make another. I'm glad you liked it.

Just done a quick search, and of the last 28 friday night videos just 4 seem to have involved bouldering. Most seem to involve expeditions or big-walling. So if anything, bouldering seems a tad under represented.

Really enjoyed it and the lack of hyperbole around the danger moment really heightened the sense of danger and 'oh f*ck' for me.
