Quick question - I am thinking of buying an Alpine Attack Rucksack for the Alps, and found on line that there is a women's version (Lowe Alpine Women’s Alpine Attack ND). No shops near me stock it, so I can not try it out, but have found it on amazon - anyone had a women's version? Does it make a difference comfort wise?
Cheers

My wife got the alpine attack men's version offline . The back length was massive for her so she couldn't use it. Winner for me!

It's a fantastic bag I've used it for everything for a few years, it's light, bomber and comfortable to carry a full rack in. It's just about ready to be replaced after alot of abuse.

The bag is so good that she just got her own woman's version. This fits her perfectly.

She had to try alot of womans specific bags to get a back length that fit and she's average height at 5'4''.

From our experience don't get a bag without trying it in the shop with some weight in.

I am 5'4" too, so may be a possibility. Problem is nowhere near me sells it in store.
Should probably get it then send it back if it is no good.

As said, always try the bag in store and weighted. I tried loads before settling on the Montane packs. The Lowe stuff doesn't sit on my back well but my GF loves them. She has the mountain attack in a womens version and it's bag porn.

i've got the 35:45, great bag, but so many straps.

Quite robust though and very comfy if it fits you.

It is a good bag, but on mine the metal frame has worn holes in the bottom of the pack (after about 6 months use) and now sometimes sticks out of the bottom making it pretty uncomfortable to wear. The retailer I bought from told me it was wear and tear and not covered under warranty. I've never heard of or met anyone else having a similar problem, but something to be aware of...

I've had a man's size Crag Attack for years, and whilst it's an excellent bag it had slowly dawned on me that it didn't fit me in the slightest - I'm 5'4, and the waistband sat low on my hips with the weight of the bag resting on my bum.

Last weekend I received my Alpine Ascent ND (it's the updated version of the Alpine Attack) - OMG to have a bag that actually fits me is incredible, it's so much comfier and way easier to carry a load. I bought it from the Lowe Alpine website without having tried it on, but fortunately it fits great. Would definitely recommend it.

Cheers! Does the alpine ascent have a external lid pocket? Looked it up, and couldn't see from the photos online!

In reply to RuthW:

Yep, the lid has both an external and an internal pocket.
