I spend a few days some weeks working in Barrow (staying just outside to the east)can anyone suggest some good loops for a couple of hours evening road bike exercise? Say 35 miles flat or 25 miles hilly (without being mental) avoiding busy roads (as much as possible). Thanks

coast road or lanes to ulverston, lanes to coniston, round the lake, pint in coniston and return.

miss out ulverston and go over kirkby moor to south end coniston

I finally made it out this evening for a couple of hours; brilliant cycling country; particularly liked Kirby Moor. I went from Dalton over Kirby Moor almost to Consiton, lanes to Ulverston, then to Bardsea and back over lanes and lumps to Dalton/Barrow. I will try and get more time for a longer ride next time. Thanks for the tips
