Does anyone know what happened to all the abseil stakes abovee Financial Sector? May be more gone too but these were the most used. I hear there is a solitary one left that presumably wouldn't budge.
We're carrying and removing them after using just now. Haven't an endless supply if the cleaner-upper opts to remove them again.
Clues?

Noticed they were gone last month. We just used the big blocks further right (looking seaward).

Why not leave them in situ? Surely can't be that difficult locating old stakes on Skye? There's no shortage of old fence posts lying around?

Yeah, but it must be a bit of a pain to add fence posts to your climbing rack just in case (and to source them)...We went there a few weeks ago and were lucky that a party had borrowed said fence posts from Mike as otherwise we would have faced a long walk round after every climb (or more to the point had to go elsewhere as we had our seven year old in toe to abseil him down).
Having said that Poverty point is quite nice and no stakes needed there.

I have no idea why anyone would think they need to remove the stakes there. Weird. Any clues would be interesting?

Was chatting to a local (don't know the name, sorry) when we were there a week ago. He said they were trying to find out from the landowner if they'd removed them (as there's no point replacing them if so). There was a single dodgy-looking one there, but neither we nor they fancied trying it. Some friends did though, and they survived
