hi folks,

i'm thinking about treating myself to a jetboil or Alpkit Brukit and i wondered if you could share your experience/views of whether they are fine with the Wayfarer-type boil in the bag meals?

i've never got on with freeze dried food so don't want something thats only any good at boiling water - i need it to heat plastic pouches and don't fancy dealing with a melted one...

cheers, as ever, for your help.

Haven't tried Brukit but Jetboil works brilliantly with boil in the bag food like army ration packs etc

Jetboil works fine with homemade boil in the bags too. I use the Lakeland soup n sauce bags.

A melted one? I'm not sure how you'd manage to do that. Funnily enough 'boil in the bag' meals are quite well suited to stoves that can boil water, which you then put the bag into.
