AN EVENING WITH DOUG SCOTT

Nottingham born Doug Scott started climbing on the local Black Rocks near Cromford and is now widely acknowledged as one of the greatest and bravest mountaineers of all time. He has made numerous significant ascents in the Himalaya, including the first ascent of the south-west face of Everest, and has climbed the most difficult peaks around the world.

During Scott’s climbing career, his understanding of the culture and the people in the regions where he climbed grew as he formed strong bonds and relationships. Doug Scott founded the charity Community Action Nepal www.canepal.org.uk and spends much of his time fundraising for this cause. The proceeds of this talk will be donated to this charity. If you are interested in climbing and mountaineering or simply fascinated by what drives a person to take these amazing risks, you will not want to miss this illustrated talk.
