What's the view of the group and/or procedure for accessing Wainwright's Outlying Fells which are not on CROW/Open access land and do not have a public right of way?

I stumbled (unfortunately, as my error) on my first one of these a couple of weeks ago in the form of
High Knott / Williamson's Monument and was stopped by the farmer on quad bike. It's not on access land and I'd trespassed (my errror). There's a note on WS website
https://www.wainwright.org.uk/articles/2016/access-to-high-knott.html
noting this, and stating completions will be allowed without High Knott.

I'm hoping the head to Caer Mote & St John's Hill tomorrow, but want to ask first. I'm going to ring a couple of the nearby farms first to ask, as I don't want to antagonise the owners and be yet another Outlying Fells bagger who goes up without asking
