Anyone wanting coal for the stove in Hutchinson Memorial Hut is advised to set out from Cairngorm with a robust plastic bag and visit the howff overlooking the beach at the head of Loch Avon (it's on the way), at NJ00474 01849. Someone has left a plastic bag of coal there. There's no fireplace or stove at this howff, and it's not a suitable place for a fire. If you were to remove it, it would help clean the place up and be an asset to your bothy trip. Please take the old plastic bag, too, it's useless. Cheers.
